Celebrated Nigerian media personality Adesope Olajide, popularly known as Shopsydoo and Energy Gawd, has jetted in for  Bebe Cool’s highly anticipated “Break The Chains” album release event this Thursday, May 29th, at Noni Vie.

Adesope, a renowned UK-based radio and television personality, talk show host, and podcaster, is best known for hosting The Afrobeats Podcast, a popular show focusing on afrobeats and Afro pop culture.

His attendance at the album launch is expected to significantly boost the event’s profile and expand Bebe Cool’s reach beyond Uganda’s borders. The collaboration between the Ugandan music star and the influential media figure promises to foster cultural exchanges between the Ugandan and Nigerian music industries

The veteran media personality has worked closely with major African artists, including Burna Boy, WizKid, Sarkodie, Lil Kesh, and Uganda’s own Joshua Baraka, positioning him as a key figure in promoting African music globally.

Fans and industry stakeholders have been eagerly awaiting the release of “Break The Chains,” particularly after the success of the first two singles, “Circumference” and “Motivation,” which showcased Bebe Cool’s evolution toward a new Afrobeat sound.

Adesope has been widely recognized for his contributions to African music and culture, earning acknowledgment as a driving force behind the global Afrobeats boom. Since September 2020, Adesope has hosted The Afrobeats Podcast weekly, featuring African stars including Stonebwoy, CKay, Rema, Fuse ODG, Brymo, Don Jazzy, Sarkodie, Camidoh, King Promise, Fireboy DML, Darkovibes, Ruger, Timaya, Wizkid, Diamond Platnumz, Yemi Alade, and his Ugandan host Bebe Cool.

His efforts to connect continents through music have earned him recognition from peers, with Wizkid bestowing upon him the moniker “Afrobeats CNN” in acknowledgment of his relentless promotion of Afrobeats culture worldwide.
