Musinguzi Simon aged 29 was on Thursday evening (June 23rd) was picked from his home in Makindye shortly after he had returned from work. According to neighbours who prefer anonymity, plain cloth men came to his home with a white Toyota Premio that didn’t have license plates.

Musinguzi according to the onlookers was roughly dragged to the back seat of the car by two men and it was immediately driven off. Unlike being a businessman in the city centre, Musinguzi is known for being a big supporter and mobilizer of the National Unity Platform, a political group headed by Robert Kyagulanyi.

Musinguzi is not the first NUP supporter to go missing. A Few months ago, NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi reported that NUP supporter Teddy Nalubowa had gone missing after unidentified men detained her. It was also reported in most media channels that public prosecutor charged Nalubowa in the absence of her lawyers with “offensive communication” and disturbing “the peace, quiet or right to privacy” of President Museveni after she posted a TikTok video in which she mocked a deceased military officer, General Elly Tumwine, and added that Museveni would also die. The court remanded Nalubowa to Luzira prison and her trial continued at year’s end.

All these according to Kyagulanyi are false arrests done by President Museveni and his men who are in panic because of the pressure from Ugandans who are tired of the regime.
