Police in Tororo have arrested the widow of the former Tororo college head teacher, Joseph Francis Olokojo, to help with an investigation into the murder of her husband.
Bernadette Olokojo, the head teacher of Rock View primary school in Tororo municipality, was on Friday arrested and detained at Tororo central police station as police stepped up investigations into the murder of her husband.
Olokojo was allegedly attacked by an unknown assailant on the night of August 13th in his home located in Ogolla village in Tororo municipality, doused with petrol, and burnt to death.
Earlier, Bernadette told the mourners that her husband and she had first had a prayer before going to bed. Shortly before midnight, Mr. Olokojo moved out of the house.
She said because he took too long to return, she decided to follow him outside, only to discover him burning on the balcony.
However, the investigators became concerned after she changed her statement to suggest that Olokojo committed suicide.
