Police in Mubende are searching for a man and his wife in connection with a murder that took place in Ngowa village on Saturday, 9 September.
The victim, Ignatius Nyasiyo, was reportedly fatally stabbed by one Khalisiti Mutatina after he found him having sex with his wife on their matrimonial bed.
According to a September 9, 2024, statement by Wamala Police region spokesperson Rachael Kawala initial investigations show that Nyasiyo was a lumberjack working in Kagadi district, where he spent most of his time, leaving his wife at their home in Ngowa village.
It is claimed that the late Nyansiyo was involved in an extramarital relationship with the spouse of Mutatina, the suspect.
Investigations reveal that on the evening of September 7, 2024, around 9:00pm, the suspect returned home only to find Nyasiyo in bed with his wife, leading him to allegedly fatally stab Nyansiyo with a knife.
“However, after the gruesome incident both the suspect and wife fled the scene. We were informed about the incident and immediately responded to the scene of the crime,” Kawala noted.
She stated that the remains of the deceased were found lying in the suspect’s marital bed.
The body was taken to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem while efforts are on to have the suspect arrested and brought to book.
Kawala said anyone with information that can lead them to the arrest of the suspect can call 0393241007 or report to any nearby Police station.
