Singer Susan Basemera also known as Zani Lady C has come out to say something about the trending song on TikTok titled Charles Yimirira awo loosely translated in English as Charles stop there.
The kadondo Kamu song is a song that was done in the 90s and for the past three weeks, it has been trending on Tiktok. When you look up for the song online, it belongs to a legendary artiste known as Tony Kalanzi according to all the details online. According to Singer Zani Lady C, the song belongs to her and not Tony Kalanzi.
While on phone with the singer, she said that in the 90s before leaving Uganda and coming to the US where she has been for more than 15 years, she did some songs to kickstart her career and Charles Yimirira awo was one of them, it was recorded in 1999. “I did 4 songs and they were never hit songs because the production wasn’t top notch” Zani Lady C says. She goes on to say that the four songs are just like any other songs that artistes do and never give them time and attention.
Zani Lady C claims that Tony Kalanzi who she believes passed on a few weeks ago only blew the trumpet in the song because he wasn’t a singer at that time but rather an instrumentalist. How Kalanzi owned up the song, Zani is still asking herself the same question.

“I was browsing TikTok and found the chorus of the song trending and many people were creating challenges for the song” I called my relatives in Uganda and they also told me the voice in the song sounds the same like mine” Zani relays. She says when she made the song, it was produced at Kasiwukira studios by a Producer called Timothy Kizito and was distributed by Turbo productions.
Zani Lady C says that it was wrong for Tony Kalanzi to publish a song that didn’t belong to him and that all those that are planning to redo it should first seek permission from her otherwise she will take legal action.
Zani Lady C is known for her old songs like Ndoowa, Gologolo, Chimalo by Jackie Chandiru, Alululu tribute to Fred Masagazi and Sagala baala.
