The police are investigating claims that a prison warder attached to Buhweju Government Prison was killed for his involvement in a love web.
According to the police, the deceased PC Warder No. 9231, Alex Kajwarire, 45, was attacked and beaten to death by unknown assailants on August 4, and his lifeless body was found abandoned in the middle of the road.
Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Region Spokesperson, confirmed the incident happened in Kakiika cell, Nsiika town council in Buhweju District.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was involved in an undercover relationship with a married woman, Specioza Kasande, whose husband, Deus Kasheija, is in Kampala making ends meet.
It is further alleged that the woman’s sons had recently assaulted and injured the deceased, warning him to end the relationship, but it appears he did not take the threats seriously. Could they have finished the job? According to Martial Tumusiime, the police are following all those leads.
He revealed that the police have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder. These are. Innocent Nuwabiine, 19, Lawrence Sabarangira, 38, Godwine Asiimwe, 38, and Specioza Kasande, the deceased’s concubine, whose cap was recovered from the scene, All suspects are residents of Kakiika Cell, Nsiika Town Council.
The body of the deceased had been conveyed to Nsiika Health Centre IV for a postmortem.
