Socialite Zarinah Hassan alias Zari has fired back at ex-husband Diamond Platnumz over his recent comments he made, claiming he can get her back anytime he wants.
Diamond made the statements in an episode of the Netflix Reality TV show, The Young, Famous and African season 2.
While appearing on the show, the Tanzanian singer was asked whether he was jealous of Zari’s new marriage with Shakib Lutaaya.
At the time, Zari and Lutaaya were painting town and social media red with lovey-dovey moments of intimate Public Display of Affection.
In response, Diamond argued that he could not be jealous of what he could get back if he wanted.
“You can’t be jealous of something you can get when you want it. If I want her, I can get her, instantly,” he said.
Zari, who is currently in Kenya made her feelings known about the statements noting that the Tanzanian singer is egoistic.
“Diamond is allowed to say what he is saying because it feeds his ego. Diamond has an ego, and it always needs to be fed”, she said
“So it’s not about what he is saying—the question is, am I doing that? You say you can get Zari back, can you really get me back? To me, I’m like, that’s your ego, and I am okay with it.”
Once, one of the biggest celebrity couples in East Africa, Zari and Diamond separated in 2018 and have two children together.
In 2023, Zari got married to Shakib Lutaaya while Diamond has been rumoured to be dating Zuchu of the Sukari fame.
